This family will always be special for me!.. They were my first non family/friend session almost 2rs ago! There sweet little family added two new blessings three weeks ago and I had the honor of capturing there first photos. J. I met this little guy today!.. It was a great session super sweet and full of baby squeaks. He was a little hard to get sleeping but once he was it went really smooth... UNTIL my block lost power! lol... We worked it out and got some great shots of sister outside and wrapped it up powerless :)

My kids and my goal!

So I think sometimes as a photographer we (or I) forget to sit back and to just take photos!.. I've been so bad about capturing my kids just being kids.. I have been so worried about the setup and them looking at me and blah blah blah! So this year I am making it my goal to take a couple photos of both kids during the week just being kids! I need to document this time better because before I know it will be gone! I am pretty sure this is going to be a series done in B&W as I want it to have journalistic/documentary look to it :)

I used to shoot 100% all natural light..I have since gotten some lights and an external flash and have been less then thrilled with the end product..So today I set this up..
Big sliding glass door behind me and my flash pointed behind me for bounced light....And well this is what I got!
